former BSP MP's son Ashish Pandey, arrested for brandishing a gun outside a five-star hotel was sent to judicial custody till Monday by a Delhi court. Dismissing the bail plea, the court said the "arrogance" and "high-headedness" was clear. Pandey's counsel said that he only brought the weapon because he felt threatened and for the safety of the women around him.
Wholesale onion prices in the national capital have shot up to Rs 23 per kg in last ten days due to tight supplies from producing states. In the retail markets, prices have gone up to Rs 30-40 per kg depending on the quality and locality. At Lasalgoan in Nasik, Maharashtra, Asia's largest wholesale market for onion, prices skyrocketed to Rs 21-22 per kg.

Ashish Pandey, the man who was seen brandishing a pistol at Hyatt Regency, told the police he had been hiding for two days in Basti district of UP near Nepal border along with his wife and child as he got scared after the video went viral.
